Noisy start up

Hi, can anyone help? Had an 03 plate A2 1.6fsi for a couple of weeks now, when it starts up from cold it sounds like a diesel for a few seconds and is really noisy, then it tends to settle down, it's also quite noisy from the engine when accelerating. I took it to an exhaust centre but the exhaust is fine.
Anyone have any ideas??

The noises you are experiencing are quite normal for the FSi engine and are nothing to worry about, as long as everything settles down when warm.
