Hi, i emailed you about this engine problem which is still ongoing, can you please help!!!!!

I bought the car without a key and a knocking engine, and at the time was a good buy because i found a locksmith who replaced the key and all was fine, the car started and drove as normal but with the knocking.

I found a replacement AUA engine and had that put in along with a new cambelt and water pump and now the new engine would'nt start.

All of the sensors were swapped over from the old engine to the new one, and the diagnostics guy has come and cleared all the fault codes.

The engine has compression, there is petrol coming through, there is no immobliser warning light coming on, and the car want's to start but would'nt.

Can this be an ECU that needs reprogramming again or even replacing?

Which one of the sensors is more likely to stop the engine from starting?

Hi sojah
As far as I know, only the crank speed sensor will stop the engine running. Any other faulty sensor will at worst, just cause the engine to run at reduced power.

Normally any new key will open the doors but require coding to to the immobiliser before it will start the car. Did locksmith do this?

Cheers Spike
