Hi Sheila
Will be great to meet you.
Provisionally for the Saturday morning we will depart from Booths (Northern Waitrose) carpark Carnforth around 9.30 ish to head to the Lakeland Motor museum, Booths have a nice little cafe that sells breakfast sandwiches, scrambled eggs etc, it is literally 4 minute drive from where you are staying so that could be an option for Saturday breakfast, I'm working on Sunday breakfast, I have an idea but need to ask the owner first.
Looking forward to seeing you

From my front door, itā€™s a 5-10 minute walk up to my local Ordnance Survey triangulation point, at the lofty height of about 30m above sea level. After a visit from @Clackers, I took these photos on a stroll this afternoon.
From here, you can see across to the tiny community at Sunderland Point, which can only be accessed at low tide.
On a summerā€™s day, when the tide is high and the sun glistens off the water, it can look tropical. On an overcast winterā€™s afternoon, when the tide is out and the mudflats are exposed, itā€™s nevertheless beautiful.
If you look closely, youā€™ll see Blackpool Tower on the horizon, directly above Sunderland Point. @depronman lives not far from its base, but heā€™s an hourā€™s drive from here.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Tom, you can almost see me waving from Blackpool šŸ¤£.
Sunderland point was part of a BBC programme not long ago, it was the second or third biggest port in the country back in the day.

Looking forward to meeting you too. It's always great to spend time with the A2OC family... "Barry" will be very pleased to see his friends too!
We're booked into the Highfield Hotel in Keswick from Sunday evening to Friday morning to revisit this beautiful area.
Ron and I are camping in the Bunya Mountains at the moment. The wallabies are a few metres away... I haven't camped for about 10 years but the climate here makes it very enjoyable! šŸØšŸ¦˜šŸ¦œ

Another option for breakfast is Brief Encounter Bistro at Carnforth Railway Station. If you remember the film you are older than you look šŸ˜€. It opens at 8am Saturday and 9am Sunday.

We're now staying in Keswick BEFORE the A2OC weekend so will need to head for home around lunchtime on the Sunday... XXX

Just checked the Lakeland Historic Car Club Events Calendar for that weekend.

There`s Countryfest at Westmorland Showground ( Crooklands M6 J36 ) 3rd and 4th June and Retro Rendezvous at Ulverston, also both Days.

Incidentally Cafe Ambio at Lakeland Motor Museum is the regular Saturday Morning 10AM meeting place for Lakeland Historic Car Club. Maybe not 3rd June though.

The road out to Sunderland Point was well and truly underwater yesterday due to exceptionally high tides.

The sign in the water says ā€œRoad liable to tidal floodingā€. Given that it happens twice a day without fail, Iā€™d suggest itā€™s more than ā€˜liableā€™.
The road near us between Milnthorpe and Arnside is regularly flooded on high tides but strangely there are no warnings ! Vehicles do get stuck in it. Latest was a DPD Van this week. Got through the water on his way to a delivery. Unfortunately the tide was higher on his way back.

I know the exact spot you mean. Some time back, I used to cycle from Arnside railway station to Sixth Form in Heversham. Sometimes I would be thwarted by an exceptionally high tide.
