hey folks picking up my A2 tomorrow and for peace of mind im going to get the belt and pump done( service records show that it was done 30k ago, but want to do it anyway), also going to get it serviced at the same time. could anyone tell me what oil to use and glow plugs(make) etc.. i've been told to use castrol edge, but would rather make sure.. i've done a search on the forum but there seemed to be some debate as to which was best.. im going to be servicing it every 10k.. :confused:
 
My A2 is on a variable service interval and I use Castrol Edge 5W-30 which conforms to VW 507 00 spec.

Glowplugs are usually Bosch but Beru is an option. I changed the glowplugs on my 2001 TDi recently and found the new (Bosch) ones from Audi were longer. I struggled to find a good explaination at the time but heard the longer (glowing) tip protroudes further into the combustion chamber for improved starting.
Bosch Dealers are significantly cheaper than Audi - their part numbers are listed here - just fill in the manufacturer, model and power (75 HP) on the Bosch web site
