Oil Pressure Warning.

I have had the red oil pressure warning light come onHowever I thought it ws the oil level light. It started off a couple of weeks ago as an intermitent problem, on checking the oil level it was fine, yesterday however the fault light came on again and now stays on. I have now read the manual and realised it is the pressure and not the level light. I have checked the oil levels again and it is spot on, any advice will be greatfully recieved.

Stop driving

First of all; stop driving. If you have been driving for a longer period with the low oil-pressure warning light on, chances are it is only a faulty oil pressure sensor. 10 bucks. With no oil pressure the engine will likely come to a costly breakdown in 5 minutes.

The first thing a garage will do is checking for leaks and changing the oil pressure sender (cheap part). Before they even start to take a closer look at the car.

Two weeks ago I had to change a faulty pressure sender my-self. Easy fix.
