Open Sky front panel

I hope this is no-one on here. Are they having a laugh, £200 for a front panel!!! I posted one of these to Sweden for £60 last year.

Please don't pay these silly prices if you need a panel, we have a good stock if anyone needs one for less than a quarter of this price.

Hang on a mo, if that is the very front glass panel I thought that couldn't be removed. That's the piece that my lads car needs changing but was told it couldn't be done. Am I missing something here?

Yes, the whole lot has to be removed, so it’s worth doing a full clean/repair at the same time. We could simply do an exchange roof if that’s the case.

I thought that would be the case, cheers Kleynie for clearing that up Ive got a full OSS here to swap for my lads , his still works ok ish but I do think it needs fixing, the replacement roof is working fine but the guy that let me have it said that you could hear wind noise when going over 40 mph so that tells me that it isnt closing fully on one of the panels. Im sure we have had this conversation in the past in private message..

Ian / Adam - yep they probably are having a laugh - or smoking something.

But be wary of criticizing some of these eBay sellers - (as I did a couple of weeks back).

Apparently the club had some issues with one a few years ago who took offence.

Looks like I can get some use out of my refurbished OSS over the next few days!

Hi
I have a broken front panel on the A2 I have just purchased.

1. How difficult is it to replace this on the OSS once the OSS has been removed from the car.
2. Do you still have, as per your original post, one of these available?
3. Price ?
4. Is the reseal kit for the OSS readily available from Audi?

The current front panel is in situ but crazed.
Thanks
Duncan.

Hi Duncan,
This can be done in a few hours on an A2 if you have experience with the OSS, and I believe that I do still have one available. The price would depend on the condition of the panel, so I'll get back to you on that. I do not use genuine Audi seals as they are extortionate, I have been using seals of similar standard and spec as the Audi ones however, and they have worked just as well. Does your roof work correctly?
Thanks,

Adam

Guessed you had bought it, how is it?

Hi Adam

Yet to actually pick the car up so don't know on the performance of the OSS. (BTW the car was not expensive)
Just trying to price and organise the obvious repairs .It's a bit of a restoration project which is what I was looking for.

Hi David
Will let you know and let you see it in due course.
Regards
Duncan

Do you want a hand to collect? I have a good solid towing bar.

Thanks David
Our Macan has a tow bar and I've got a good trailer as well.
Just busy right now
Should be picking it up on Tuesday morning.
Cheers
\Duncan.

Hi Adam
Any news on the front panel?
Surprise surprise the OSS is not working.
I'll check it out when I remove it to get access to the Front Panel.
I've got plenty time and space in my garage to work at it.
Regards
Duncan

I’m after one of these before my A2 drowns. I missed out on an eBay offer. Do you have any in stock?

David, Adam and I had a clear out and we now only have whole roofs in stock. We can offer you a complete roof, but nothing smaller I'm afraid.

Have you tried @A2Steve ?

I can sell you a complete brokensky roof that you could remove the panel from but I can't do it for a few weeks because i'm having building work done and can't get the breaker in the garage. I notice you are in Bridgend, is that Bridgend SW? Because i'm in Aberdare.

I have a BSS that’s got both front and rear panels available. I could cut the rails with just the front glass attached for you to remove yourself?
Price would depend on carriage charge, though.
