I was enjoying that one until the forum crash. Can we kick it off again?
I tried to register several names on (I think) e-bay, but they were all taken. I got to my dogs' name, Holly, but that had been taken as well. Holly is a rescue dog so,er........
I particularly enjoyed Runboys explanation, that's worth a repeat.

EF MAX taken from my car registration EFM 4X. That fact that my name is Erskine Fenty and Max is my nickname is neither here nor there..

holly-I was kinda glad it had vanished....

But here we go again:

My now ex-girflfriend had a small cuddly blue rabbit which she used to take to bed with her, and along with sucking her thumb (she is my ex, I'll shame her all I like now[24]) this used to send her to sleep (she's 30 now.....)

Me being the softie I am, I took this blue rabbit and made it talk, dance, appear in various parts of the house doing various chores, on video, in photos etc etc (now I look a right charlie [:I])

She used to call her rabbit "runny". I thought he looked like a guy bunny, so I called him "runboy". Since this was easy to remember for forum names and it is fairly unsual (you will be suprised there are other runboys out there!) it has stuck with me.

Be gentle with the mickey taking....[29]

I am so glad you re-posted that Steve. I hadn't read any of the replies before the forum problem.

Kaine

P.S. To state the obvious, Kaine is my name!!!!

I have dug out some photos of Runboy-I'll scan them and send them to Stuart to put in the "other" photo section soon.

There I was thinking this was a closet athlete!
Bunny fetishist.
Rabbit spanking is still illegal in Norfolk.................................
or so I am led to beleive.......................

Well, my nick goes back into long forgotten history. And stems from several things.

First of all, some people may remember that SWIV was a PC game once. But I never consciously thought of that when I made my name up.
No, for me my nick stems from the times in which I used to dwell in so-called multi-user dungeons, MUDS. For those who don't know them: these are telnet (i.e. text) based Role Playing environments where people build an environment and 'life'. Like a text adventure, but then with live people. Like the current chatboxes, yet far more mature and advanced, as far as I'm concerned.

Anyways, back in about 1994 I frequented a MUD called FurryMUCK. It was a MUD based on animal-like creatures. I think it still exists. I 'decided' to call myself Swiv, loosely after the swift nature of my MUD-character. Had great times there. But then again, I was still in university...

In 1998 I recycled my nick for a hotmail account. I still hold that one, [email protected]. I use it as a spam-trap and other anonymous things. And I still recycle my nick for all kinds of forums or registrations.

So that's how I got my nick-name.
I think I'm going to see if Furry still exists........and it is, at furry.org and furry.com. Those where the days!

swiv,

I can honestly say, even after reading your explanation, I still dont understand where your forum name came from? Did I miss something? Sorry - maybe its my age!!!

Kaine

Sorry Kaine, must have gotten distracted by those good memories!
Well, to simplify it even more: I originally made up made nickname for a 'virtual character', which I pretended to be back in 1994 or so. It just sounded right. And it happens to be the name of a shoot-em-up game too.

Want to hear about another one I intend to use in the future? How about 'edniler'?
That's the name of my lovely girlfriend, in reverse (Relinde).
BUT, the first four characters is also my windows login at work. Based on the first two characters of both my first and last name (EDo NIjmeijer).

Complicated enough? ;)

I didnt get any further than your beautiful girlfriend in reverse. Sorry Swiv I couldnt resist it, I'll keep taking the pills!

To bring us all back to boring reality... My user name came about when I first went online some two years ago, from the fact that as a designer (unregistered architects cannot call themselves architects and I was a lecturer for 20 years so didn't need the registration...) I sometimes work with my wife who is most of the time the director of a large research institution (Town Planning, Architecture you name it) in Slovenia. She is Macedonian... and her maiden name was(is) Dimitrovska. When you marry in the Balkans the wife usually keeps her 'single' name as a hyphenated preceding name to the family surname; my surname, Andrews. (with it so far?) So she is Dimitrovska-Andrews; so when I do design work I trade as Dimitrovska Andrews Design Associates. DADA for short, see? and my name is Richard....... work it out.
and it has nothing to do with money I can assure you

PS my A2 is M10JCA as my stepdaughter (Slovene) is called Mojca (pronounced Moy-tsa) and it was as close as I could legally get.
The new TT with DSG gearbox is V6CTT so there!

Welcome to the forum Mr Rabbit.

My user name arises because there are lots of Ian Johnson's about - I have met two (Had fun at Marconi when there were two listed in the phone book - phone rings, conversation starts "Ian, its John, we spoke yesterday" "Who?" "John Doe from BT" "Sorry, youv'e lost me!" etc. Eventually I would tell them they have the wrong Ian Johnson! Even better than that there were two Peter Johnsons who both had the title "Commercial Director". You can guess at the conversations the receptionists had.

Back to the topic, there being many Ian Johnsons there is one or more registered nearly everywhere, frequently more than one, so to avoid being IJ1,IJ3, IJ400 etc depending upon which web site it was I adopted the first part of our home post code which is easy to remember and makes the user name unique. Oddly enough not Walsall but the ancient city of Lichfield - have great fun telling our friends from the US that the school my children attend was founded over 500 years ago - not bad for a state school.

Why are NEARLY all the A2s in Lichfield are silver ? ? ?

You will notice that runboy (the toy, not me) has one eye missing. Poor thing. and at one time his ears were erect and not limp like they are now. Old age no doubt.Again I'm refering to the rabbit, not me.

My forum names comes from 2 things first I used to be a yoyo champion at the age of 12 here in the Netherlands.
And I ve been given yoyo demonstrations for different promotion campaigns here in the netherlands for the last 34 years *(I am almost 46y old).
The second reaseon for the name yoyoman is the fact that I have a weight problem now after a busy period I did not jog very often loosned on my food enjoyed X mas and new year + various after partys so I gained weight again and I want to loose it.
like a yoyo my weight goes so yoyoman.
