Hi Guys
I need your advice,
I collected my new A2 yesterday and this morning our friendly (and I suspect blind)dustman drove his truck into it! Luckily my wife was on hand and the company will pay up.The damage is not too bad more of a scrape than an impact but it still looks awful.
My question is , are the front wings aluminium or plastic?.I have two deep scores starting at the cracked headlight running back to the front door edge, I think the wing will need replacing but you know what insurance companies are like.
Any advice recommendations would be much appreciated.
Tony

I think they are plastic. The best bet is to take the car to an AUDI approved repairer (normally shared under VAG). I took one there the first time - well I had to as the guy who ran into me creased part of the ally subframe and there are only THREE places in the UK that can do repairs to aluminium as opposed to fitting a new piece etc. Fortunataly the place was 10 miles away from me - £3k bill for a car that had what appeared to be a minor crease in the rear bumper.

Second time some txxt scraped all my nearside whilst it was parked and drove off. This time a £475 bill and the loss of a no claims 'life' - repaired by the insurance co repairers of which I had my doubts, but a great job in the end.

I did try 'dentmasters' but they quoted the same price and their on site 'localised' repair put me off.

Given the technology in paints etc I would be content with a repair to the original wing - after all you can always reject it if its not right. However as this will be a claim off another party I suspect VAG will quote for a new wing - whether they actually fit one is another matter.

Thanks for the help,
My concern is that the wing is deeply scored( really creased) and if it is plastic then filling and painting will leave a weakness in the panel( a bit like you get in a hard suitcase that gets a deep scratch, replacement is recommended as they can split)

Maersk is right, Audi bodyshop says, new wing, new headlight.Havent't got the quote yet but I think it's going to be expensive!!!
