Overly lite steering

I have no fault codes, but for some reason the steering has become overly lite.

I was driving along gently holding the wheel going straight and the car decided to pull to the right then back very quickly for no apprarent reason - straight flat road. It has done it several times lately and caught me out / surprised me.

Under braking the wheels will pull left and right alternatively and it really doesn't feel safe.

Any suggestions appreciated

First initial thought was, the subframe is moving....

Didn't you replace the wishbones recently? Could one of the bushes be playing up?

This sounds like a suspension geometry issue to me. Tow in/out are the basics to check, but camber & caster are worth measuring also if the fault persists.

Wheels in Motion are not too far from you.

Im taking it to atomic wheels, 5 mins from me and they have a hunter hawkeye machine

Get everything checked out that way.

Well I have had the geometry checked. The only thing wrong was the Front right wheel being too far toe in.

This issue was likely due to me replacing the wishbones / bush as it was the RHS that was knackered.

Everything else was spot on - so I did put the subframe back on in the right place.

It does feel better now. Im taking it back in a weeks time once Ive amended my rear spacers for a quick check and to have the wheel balancing checked.

If anyone lives near or around MK I can highly recommend Tony at Atomic Wheels. Very knowledgable and nice chap.
