Always a good idea to include in a post the actual text of a scan report, by far VCDS is the preferred scan tool. There would have been another number, any idea what it was?

The FSI thermostat is not a cheap dumb thermostat, but electronic, not cheap and a bit of a pig to replace as well as possibly opening a can of worms.

If you are not DIY you are fortunate in that you are close to WOM, a (the only) national A2 specialist. Make a booking and it will be gaurenteed sorted at a reasonable cost.

The FSI is a tricky beast to sort at the best of times. If you're intending to do the work yourself, you will need to get VCDS, otherwise go to WOM and they'll sort it for you.

You seem to be wanting an easy answer to a difficult question. Renewing the thermostat on the FSI is not straightforward, and for owners without significant DIY experience is best left to a specialist.

Hello Steve,

Many thanks indeed,
