Passenger side window switch broken edge and not working

Hi ,

Wonder if you can advise. The passenger window switch doesn’t work. But I can operate the window from the drivers side. The broken switch is no longer located in the door card and the locating lip is partially broken.

The wires and the connector are still in tact . So could this simply be a case of a defective switch?

Many Thanks

Many thanks Steve,

Not sure how I can find the part number. Think my Audi parts dept is closed.

Most grateful for all your help.
Hopefully Andy will sort one out later today.
Hoping it's as simple as the switch but things aren't normally that easy !

Cheers,

Steve B

It may be the passenger motor, but let’s start with the easier change

So it's proved not to be the switch, and I can only think it's a cable damaged in the door conduit. Has anyone had this problem ?

Or the door module has failed on the passenger door. As you will have to take the door trim off to check it you could see if the plug for the switch is loose on the module. How do you know the switch is ok?

Thanks,
Ive just replaced it so i assume its ok ? Common fault on my A4 is cables breaking inside the door rubber sleeve Im told 1

Have you proved the switch works? Passenger door more likely the switch is duff, the connection onto the door controller is loose or corroded or the controller itself faulty. Does the passenger switch work in either direction? How did you replace the switch? Did you take the door card off or change the switch in situ?
