Pelican blue

I am considering making an offer for a 2003 1.6 FSI sport 'pelican blue' Audi A2 on Autotrader (see link below). It is a colour I have never seen before on the A2, but is very attractive. I contacted Audi UK, to check it was an official Audi colour, and their response:

Dear Mr F,
I just wanted to let you know that after investigation, 'Pelican Blue' does not appear to be an 'Audi Colour.'
This suggests that the vehicle you saw was re-sprayed outside of the Audi network.
Yours sincerely

The owner has however stated 'The car is the original colour, yes it is rare and was not done for long in that colour, it is not resprayed.'

They are the second owners of the car, so they may be unaware if it was resprayed. Who is right? Have you ever seen a 'pelican blue' A2 before?!

Here it is http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/ww...=0&ukcarsearch_full.x=78&ukcarsearch_full.y=9

Thank you

Well, after my investigations, I can tell you that Pelican Blue is an Audi colour, although rare and it was deleted around 1999/2000.

I can't recall it being a colour ever offered for the A2, so it looks like it was a special order colour (the so called Audi Exclusive colour-scheme). If you can, get hold of the paint code from the vehicle data sticker, which will be on the inside cover of the service booklet and on the boot floor by the battery.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi tommyf, welcome to the A2oc

If you get chance to check the service booklet, to give you an idea of what to look for, The Audi World web site listed the Pelican Blue paint code as LY5T

The cost of the 'exclusive colour option' on an A2 was £1585

Cheers Spike

New info

The owner's got back to me: the service book paint code is N5T/YA. Can anyone tell me, what colour is that?!

Thanks & Kind regards,
Tom
