After some advice just waiting on a set of 15 inch pepperpots just wondering what the widest tyre I can put on and the lowest profile without rubbing issues my car is 1.4 tdi sport so sport suspension as standard. Thought I saw a thread with regard to fitting spacers to these wheels has anybody had experience with this and do they recommend It or not. Any advice experience much appreciated. Thanks

I’ve used 20mm spacers with Pepperpots

I found Michelin cross climates to be quiet and ride very well 185/65/15

Thanks for the replies Guys replied much appreciated looks like cross climates the tyre Of choice as well. Spacers would give a wider track and do better handling.

195 55 R15 in cross climates is the same Speedo reading as a stock wheel

This is the perfect size imho for the pepperpots which should make your speedo pretty accurate too?

195 is a little too wide for the width of rim ?

Morning Edward,

If you have 195/55/15 tyres on Pepperpots, could you add a few pictures please. Head on and side view shots preferably to see how they look along with how much wider they are than the wheels themselves.

I have 185/60/15 Dunlop BluResponse fitted but the speedo reading is out, safely out (2400rpm @ 70mph when it should be 2600rpm) but I’d like to have it reading as best as possible.

My tyres have at least another year of life but when I change them I’d like to have my speedo reading true again, but not at detriment to the look, hope that makes sense.

Kind regards,

Tom

The rpm is nothing to do with it as if your car is remapped that would be different anyway and 195/55 would actually make it more out as although 10mm wider has a smaller depth of sidewall than 185/60 and therefore a smaller rolling circumference.

You need to check your actual speed against gps maybe on your sat nav ?

Thank you for adding the pictures.

Decision decisions, although they obviously give a much better reading on the instrument cluster, they don’t seem to fill the arches as nice as the 60 profile though.

Can you confirm you have SE or Sport springs.

Kind regards,

Tom

Or have i misunderstood and do you mean your speedo is under reading ie showing 70mph when you're actually travelling 72mph?
