Perforated Wishbone

Yes, we were referring to different models.

I researched polo 9n, but all data showed that 9n front track is 1435mm vs A2's 1462mm.
When I tried 9n wishbones, car was 17 years old and 180k miles at that point, consoles were ok, we kept them.
We just replaced big bushes 8Z0407183A, other, smaller, bushes came with the wishbones, so I can't elaborate on 9n consoles compatibility.
My info came from a post by robincox on this forum. It is in the thread I have linked to
http://www.vwpolo.net/dimensions-40.html Dont know if this link works but it shows the 9n polo having a track of 1463

Data shown on the linked page refers to the polo 6r.
These are the pages that I gathered data from

Thanks for the reply. I expect that the manufacturers data would be the most authoritative. Something I noted about the track is that it takes into account the wheels not just the hub. As a result the track taken from the centreline of the wheels is actually narrower on the more sporty models as the fatter wheels mean a reduced offset in order to fit in the arches and thus a narrower track. It shows that trackwidth is not always a reliable guide in determining the compatibility of the control arms.
I checked the forums and noted that someone else in 2017 also spotted what seem to be the same arms,
with no definitive reply. I would check them myself, but there is nothing currently wrong with my control arms.

Car went in today for its pre-MOT checkup and looks like I have a rusty drivers side wishbone (Pressed). So it looks like i'll have to fit a new pair of cast items, but gutted as it just had a ball-joint on the "good" wishbone. Any links for a pair that come in at a good price and quality?

Having said that just spotted these, any good? I have a 1.4TDI 75, https://www.autodoc.co.uk/triscan/14768571 I see it states "left" and the "right" are out of stock, but I was under the impression they are the same, just turn over and bolt the ball joint the other way, is that correct?
If you see post #44 of this thread you will see that the supplier has tested them and stated they don't come close to the quality of the original control arms/wishbones fitted to the cars from new.

You will also see that he offers an alternative part that he supplies and states is to the original quality, so it might be worth asking the seller @A2-Doc for a price and link to the one's he recommends ?

If you have good recent ball-joints fitted and just want arms, I've bought a pair of starline pressed arms from CP4less for £68.26 delivered, for stock to prepare for when I need a set, they seem perfectly fine but due to reported rust issues they have had 2 coats of rust proofing paint on the outside and I've used a can of bilt hamber Dynax S50 cavity wax on the insides, and when they are fitted, I'll coat the outsides again with underseal.
I like the pressed and think they ok if they are looked after, like the other steel bits in the suspension.

This one? https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/p/starline-suspension-arm-616440799

Yes that’s the exact order code from my order, same part for both sides, make sure you use all the discount codes available (20% new customer etc) and price check euros for the same product code (sister company) but cp4less are normally cheaper, I can send you some photos of my prepped set in the garage if you like?
