Picking this 1.6fsi up Monday.

WOW

So you replaced both the full lower inlet manifold (flap, actuator and potentiometer) with a new one and then a new injector. Including labour that must have been a very pretty penny indeed!

You've been skim reading again. ;) Actuator and potentiometer are original the 'Lower manifold' incorperating the flaps was new from Audi.

Edit, quote from the cars thread..........

Just got the car back and she's a different car now, all verrrrry smooth and quiet and punchy even low down.

So she's had.......

New Audi lower inlet manifold ( houses flaps ) and gaskets which was nice but a little on the ouch side Lol.
New Bosch injectors seals from Audi for the cylinders 1 and 2, cylinder 3 already had a new Bosch injector.
New gen Bosch Injector for No 4 cyl@ £98 so not bad all things considered.
New Audi egr pipe and gaskets, silly price for what it is!
1.9 litres of honey drizzled into the gearbox, that makes a difference, ie; Fuch Titan Sintofuid fe GL4 spec.
Fresh Millers Nanodrive full synthetic longlife oil.
New Mann air filter, the old one was quite clean which came as a pleasant surprise!
New Audi oil filter.

To say i'm pleased at how this has turned out is some way short of how the car is really making me feel.
So,.....very much looking forward to the Welsh tour, even more so now that the car is running perfectly.
See you all on the tour. :)

great read, nice to hear people say nice things about the fsi, I have had mine all sorted now mot ect, iv been driving a Skoda fabia estate sdi around for the last year great car nothing to look at but basic as they come and 70mpg every day going to and from work, but as for the fsi I'm in love with it its never going to set any land speed records but its a pokey little thing and handles great brings a smile to my face every time I arrive home and look at It on the drive, once again thanks for the interesting reed

Something that has been bugging me for a while, my 1.6fsi seems to have been factory badged as just 1.6? Was this normal as I’ve never seen any other A2 with 1.6 on the back?

Someone's taken the FSI lettering off it, I'd suspect a previous seller wanting to make it look like it's not the 'problem child' model that it's known they can be. Looks like they tried quite hard at it too, they might even have got a replacement OEM badge and just used half of it - it certainly looks quite convincing.

It is surprisingly good and located exceptionally well. Judging by the crud built up in the loop of the six, I’d say it’s been like that for a while! It just looks too ‘normal’ in its location to look like a debadge/rebadge job. If that’s the level of attention to detail then it must have been owned by someone on here! :D

I've got one of each, I'm not certain if you could debadge from the factory selectively the model details? anyone?

Looks like it could have been an OEM thing - see this post and subsequent discussion in the Market if you have access. What year is yours?

In the june 2004 price list under exterior. there is a option of no rear model inscription at no charge.

Amazing, looks like it’s original owner may have taken this for some reason. I have to say, I’ve never seen any other A2 with just 1.6 on the back.....and I’ve kept my eyes open. Seems like a rather bland “factory option”

Mine certainly has this option as the 1.6 spacing wouldn’t allows FSI to fit
