I just have to say what a lovely car this is! The 1.6 BCB/AUB engine is just brilliant! Well done @A2Steve and @celsisone it’s a great car. Thank you for all your help and advice as I’ve got to know Mr Pine Green.
He now has a custom stainless exhaust from Powerflow, nice note, legal too!
I’ve found, with help, a few folk that can do fine tuning on the Magneti Marelli ECU.
I’d thoroughly recommend this as a way to get good reliable FSI plus performance out of a knackered 1.4i. Ditch the 1.4i and pop in a 1,6 BCB/AUB (added for clarity, this is not tuning the 1.4)

@George Hogg Interested in knowing more about the 1.4 petrol ECU tuning. AFAIK no noticeable performance improvements are possible on the 1.4?

As far as I know unless you change the head and cam you’ll not get anything more out of the 1.4 I. This relates to the 1.6 BCB/AUB conversion which then needs some fine tuning.
If you want performance I wouldn’t l start with a 1.4i engine! Soz
