Pivot bolt snapped

I don't think they are stretch bolts, I happily reuse them and so does my local Audi workshop. I believe they are standard 10.9 grade bolts, I'll take a look when under the car later. However the manual does say replace, so the advice on here has to be to replace.
Edit it will be obvious if the bolts removed are stretch bolts, at some point a plain turned section will be necking slightly.
Hi Phil, maybe the wrong terminology on my part ... just an assumption because of the + 90° after torqueing?

The X Nm plus Y degrees is just a more accurate way of applying torque. I’ve not yet got under my car, had a new screen fitted and was told not to lift it. But I will take a look and report back.

These bolts are high tensile 10.9 bolts and so are reusable. Audi, for reasons I’ve not been able to fathom, recommend they are replaced if removed.
It could have something to do with the plating to stop galvanic corrosion. However the Audi replacements are not green plated. So I just clean up, zinc plate and reused mine.

Well this is not going well,re-used the bolts all torqued and im getting a terrible creaking noise from under my feet in the drivers footwell?
Called into Audi Manchester, anyway they gave me two that hold steering rack and only had two for the console. Trouble is the rack ones are
not correct bolts! Anybody got the correct part numbers for all of these, please.

Thanks, but i just cannot workout which is which on that.
Hi Bernie, I bought mine from Audi, numbers below:

N10416201 Subframe Console Bolts X4 (M12 75mm Stretch Bolts) £2.96 x4.

N10141801 Control arm to Console X2 (M12 100mm Stretch Bolts) £7.18 x2

N10492101 Subframe to steering X4 (M10 84mm Stretch Bolts) £1.45 x 4.

Thanks so much Tomscar, the guy at Audi had a tiny screened laptop and didnt seem to know what he was doing,so much easier to have the
correct knowledge of what you want.

... they bolt through the console into a 'U' shaped metal bracket that hold the rubber bushings in place.

Cheers so i need these too? Im sorry to be a pain. But Audi aint no help, just want to make sure i get all the correct parts(bolts)
that i need to replace.

Hi Bernie, it's no bother at all ... if you follow the Audi guidelines to the letter and you've removed them then technically yes ... if you're ordering the other bolts anyway then they shouldn't be too expensive on top. Personally I would replace them along with the antiroll bar bushings for a few £s more 👍

Here we go,took car to garage that originally replace the wishbone and was told by someone who was there that they had not torque up the bolts ! even after i had given them all the info myself. They had just used a air wrench !.Got into an argument with the owner and left, now i have all the new bolts except the main pivot bolt, cars creaking and groaning when pulling away or turning. What else could be the problem now????

Hi Bernie, are the new bolts in place now and fully torqued up?

Hi Tomscar,no i just left the garage, lost confidence in them to do it correctly. What would be the damage if any, because of the obvious over
tightening?? Or is it a case of just renewing the bolts to correct torque, worried about getting the Pivot bolt out and starting the Snapping situation all over again !

.... not sure about the damage done by an air wrench Bernie but the bolts that hold the console in place and the long bolt that goes through into the wishbone are pretty much critical to the safety of the car. If you have the new bolts already then it would be advisable to get a competent mechanic to swap them and get them set to the correct torque, personally I wouldn't drive the car in that condition and also would have a a major issue with the garage that swapped the wishbone,
