Anyone know whether this done, over the shock nut and sat over top mount, does anything special?

Or does it just sit there to protect the nut from corrosion. Seems odd as lots of cars don't have them.

I've just fit new shocks and can't quite get them back in from top. I have a nagging feeling that your supposed to fit them on shocknthen push it up through the wing?

I hope not!

I did not fit the caps prior to re-installing the new shocks, (to give easier access to the three fixing nuts). Subsequently I could not get the caps back on no matter what I did. So I left them off. No adverse effects.

Me too. Now in the the box of spares I'm probably never going to use. Unfortunately that's the same box as the ones I will use.

If I am not mistaken the dome goes on prior to fitting the shocker, this then holds it in place when you are putting the bolts, sadly I forgot too so they are half on now lol

I tried that and it worked, on one side only though sadly. It still popped off after some jiggling but did help a bit.
