Power steering still faulty

HI I HAVE A AUDI A2 1.4 PETROL I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY POWER STEERING IT HAS BIN GOIN REALLY LIGHT AND THEN VERY HEAVY WHEN YOUR MANOEUVRING AND GOES REALLY LIGHT WHEN GOING AROUND SHARP CORNERS I HAVE HAD A VAG CHECK ON THE CAR AND MY MACHANIC SAID IT WAS THE POWER STEERING PUMP SO HE REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE STEERING IS THE SAME AS BEFORE SO WHAT ELSE COULD BE THE PROBLEM ? :confused: THANKS
 
It could be a problem with the steering position sensor. The module is located behind the steering wheel and provides info on ammount of lock and how quick the wheel is turned. This determines the degree of assistance required by the electric ps pump. If this is the problem, I'm surprised it has not logged a fault code.

I would also consider checking the Earthing points too. I too still have this issue, just not had the time to look into it :eek:
