Hi I've seen a couple of posts about power issues after fitting a aftermarket stereo can someone please point me in the right direction of what I need to do or get,
I've brought a pioneer stereo which is brand new and I got a wiring harness of ebay but when I fitted the kit the pioneer had no power ?
Is there a different harness I need to get or do I have to get a separate power feed ?

This is the harness I brought

Evening Ross,

I’m no expert with aftermarket head units in the A2 but do know the factory setup has a constant live for memory and is powered on via the Infotainment system.

I guess you’re after a switched live to power up your Pioneer purchase. After a little reading through the the pages on here I think some people have used the switched live at the Climate Control Unit.

I’m sure someone who has installed similar will be along shortly to give you an idea of what you need to do.

Kind regards,

Tom

@RossD the adapter harness you bought can likely have red and yellow joined which should give you power though as Tom noted there's no switched live on the A2(for the radio).

You will need an ignition supply, easiest is the large white wire behind the climate panel, and an illumination live from the ashtray light.
These harnesses do not provide the above.
