Pro Boost FSI remap

I see no issue bringing a couple back. They are second hand and should not attract any vat. It’s not like I’m bringing a van load back and making any profit.

Steve,
After dithering for ages I've decided to go the ProBoost route rather than a Spares or repair sale of my car. So my question is.. will there be another batch ordered and what's the likely time scale.
Thanks
Norman

I owned a 1.4 petrol a few years ago which felt more powerful than our 1.6 so I am also interested in one.

Our FSI feels sluggish to me even after considerable amount of diagnostic work and repairs were recently carried out.

@flashzero If your FSI feels "sluggish" then you should find out what's wrong with it, as wrong it definitely is!
Have you had a scan? You are probably wasting time, money, and a good car if not.
Once you have an indication of the problem, you can decide on the solution(s), not the other way around.
What work was done previously?
Mac.

It’s been to WOM and had a lot of work done on it which has definitely improved it but I still think it’s sluggish and slightly hesitant at low revs.

Are the coil packs original (check the date code on each one)? If so replace them. My FSI was a bit hesitant off the market when I bought it, new Bosch could packs and NGK plugs sorted it.
Do you run on Super Unleaded (98 Octane minimum)?
A good (ie VCDS error free) FSI is never sluggish...
Mac.

Unless things improve with customs, I won’t be ordering another batch. The complications involved are just not worth it I’m sorry.

Coil packs were replaced about 4 or so years ago by the previous owner (that was done by A2 Cars), spark plugs were replaced recently by WOM, though I don’t know if they used NGK, they do know A2s though.

We only use Shell vPower

I assume it’s error free following the recent work carried out, but I have no scanner to check.

Sounds like a well cared for A2.
Take a look at the Free Scan Register on here, maybe a member not far away can scan it for you. From what you say, something is not right. So, best find out what ASAP.
Mac.

Have any of the people running a ProBoost ECU tried running on 95ron unleaded? If so was there any noticeable difference in consumption or performance?

I know this kind of offtopic but I bought a random FSI ECU and it was send straight to Proboost as my FSI was my main transport at that time. It was programmed for E85 but the IMMO was not lifted so my car runs about 2 secs and IMMO light goes on.
Proboost answers my emails very very slowly so what are my options, can I lift some chip from my original ECU to new one?
Buy some OBD gadget to bypass IMMO? I don't know if they work but I found them cheaper than shipping my ECU to Germany.
What kind of programming tools is needed to pair the new ECU to my car?
I have understood that IMMO of ECU from Proboost is plug and play, am I wrong and should do some adaptation with VCDS?

I am running a PB ecu in my fsi, and it was a straight swap with the original, just plug n play.

The ones I was supplying in the U.K. were with no immobiliser so they could be used in any car (FSI).

If you sent yours direct to Pro Boost then the immobiliser will still be in place.

Lets hope @SLEI had his original unit returned to him and not someone else's with a different immo code. Hope you recorded all the details on the unit before it was sent and confirmed the same numbers on return?

So were the IMMO lifted in UK before sending to Germany?
I was thinking it was lifted while programming it in Germany.
I bought a Ecu from Ebay and seller shipped it directly to Proboost.
I have my original ECU I just took it away few weeks ago when I plugged in the Proboost ECU.
Proboost programming was last effort to avoid tearing big parts away from engine to end erratic behavior which I haven't solved using lots of hours in different things.
My "new" ECU was programmed for E85(Ethanol) as I have experimented with it on my original ECU and Unisetting program and was happy with results.

I now need cheap and easy way to test PB programming without IMMO.

Very sad thing is that Fsi started in 2 seconds after 8 months winter hipernation, but I couldn't trust the car while it's in normal temperature, no symptons while heating up.
