Problems with modified gear lever

Hi all, I'm having problems with my modified gear lever, I was driving when I noticed the surround was sticking up a bit, and would not push down and stay put, so I took it apart to see what the problem is, and now it totally refuses to go back together, there is a plastic ring that has 3 lugs on that seems like it should fit into 3 positions in the plastic, but won't stay clicked in, there is the metal ring on top that is ment to screw to the plastic ring underneath, but none of the screws line up properly, the parts don't seem to belong together

What I would like to do is put it all back to standard,. But I'm unsure of the parts I'd need, gear knob, gator, and all plastics associated with fitting it all back together, can anyone help? I'm in a real muddle 🙁

By the way, it's a 6 speed box

Don't worry Gary....the original gear knob, gaitor and bottom plastic ring surround are generally sold in one piece. Very easy to refit and one of our ethical breakers may have one for you.

It's a real shame, I like the look of it, but it just doesn't seem to fit back together, nothing lines up or fits together

Yes I believe you are correct, but the plastic ring it screws to, sandwiching the rubber gator between, does not align up with the screw holes at all, completely a different size, and then the plastic ring will not clip into place in the dash, just keeps falling out

Dave, is the shaft the same on mine as a standard version? Because I've got the Passat 6 speed box fitted. I was hoping it's not changed when the upgraded box is fitted, so a standard gator/surround and knob would fit directly back on?

The gear lever isn’t chnaged in the process 👍
 
Has anyone else have problems with this?
As in the chrome effect park keeps unclipping at the rear and coming out.

I purchased it but it's 180Degrees out. I have spoken to the seller and he said the audi a2 is different from what he normally has seen. I unglued the leather turned it 180Degrees and it now keep pulling out the clips. I think the stitching line is too tight.

Saying that this is the second full gear stick I have purchased with the same problem.

Sorry for the late reply, I hadn't seen the post, I fitted a different one of theirs and it seemed to fit pretty well 👍🏻, the base doesn't pop out
