Project 1.4 se day one

@Darpod14
That would put me off removing it too, unless replacing CD trim with standard trim was easy and the bits are avaiable. Would it free up usable boot space I wonder?
Mac.
Only a small amount really, because it sits high up against the side panel it is really neatly fitted in.

Paint underway!

I’ll take a look and see, bound to be a video on YouTube
This X Car Link kit allows you to retain the CD changer, so you can have your cake and eat it!
I have no experience of it, but a colleague on the TT forum has one, and is very satisfied. Worth a look I'd think. Bit pricey at £112, but looks like a good bit of kit.
Mac.

you would loose the CD changer as the BT adapter uses the CD changer of the head unit, but as stated above the convert II is a single CD / Radio unit so you would not be loosing all access to CD's (if that is a concern)

I’m quite certain that I had the Xcarlink running on my Chorus along with the Boot CD Changer. On the Chorus CD1 was the Xcarlink and CD2 was the Boot Changer. (Just press the CD button twice to get to CD 2).

If your set up was with a RNS-E then you would loose the Boot Changer with Xcarlink added.

Kind regards,

Tom

If I can get it working and retain the cd changer that would be really great! It would be perfect!

An interesting post and comments to it. I was a bit sceptical about Landsail tyres too, but they do keep getting mentioned on this site. So I Googled them and was rather surprised that they appear to do well (though I haven't found in depth tyre comparison). But this was an interesting start - but it is just a subjective review. http://www.frontseatdriver.co.uk/20...ndsail-tyres-banish-the-budget-brand-baggage/ and a group test https://alltyretests.com/landsail-ls388-test-review/ Interestingly quite good in the wet but but less than average in dry. Much cheaper than premium brands though. I do need to check what I have on my recently bought A2.

Good articles, tbh I’m not changing them until I need to, too many other jobs on my list! I’ve got the bug now! I’ll just keep them nicely slicked and worry about what brand will work for me down the line ?

What a transformation. Looks great. Swing Grey is so prone to peeling on the plastics inside. Looking forward to seeing the refurb job you do.

From you that really means something judging by your standards! It’s not perfect but come a long way from where it was (looks worse in pics!)
Yes still haven’t decided the best route to take yet.
1. Replace all panels affected (help!)
2. Paint
3. strip back to original plastic, done before on other cars.

Well I could supply all the parts to do a full interior colour change to black if you wanted (minus the seats and BOSE speaker grilles).

That quantity of parts wild have it be collected though.

Ok, that may be an option, but I’ll see what I can do first via diy! Proghound suggested a mix and match interior so I may go down this route, maybe full centre console black and strip/paint glove box and under steering wheel, just for a bit of individuality!

Out of interest Steve, what would I be looking at for a full centre console as a first option or console plus glove box and under wheel bits? Thanks Darren
