Project A2 DUNE

Having given this project some thought, I think I'd like to take this one in a completely different direction.

An Audi A2 DUNE

It will take me a while to get all the parts together to make it work but should be quite effective.

It will be very important that it is executed correctly and to a very high standard to avoid it looking an aftermarket mess, but if my plan works out as want it then it will look like a factory model.

Stay tuned.

I thought you were on holiday. ? Interesting, are you lifting it? Roof rails? Can't imagine a high standard finish will be an issue for you. Enjoy FW.

Yes, but chill out time now in Fort William. I think the rugged terrain of Skye gave me the inspiration.

Higher, roof rails, plastic bumpers/arches and some imitation skid plates as per most soft roaders these days, along with some other special touches.

It's not that far from one of Audi's own concepts

Blimey, makes a change from your previous ground huggers!

Nice to go up rather than down for a change.

I've got those 18s you're holding for me that will raise the height a bit.

Raising the rear can probably be achieved by fitting TDI OSS spec springs with larger spring cups.

I'm a little unsure how I can raise the front though. Only looking for 10-20 mm.

Any suggestions anyone.

It’s a shame air ride is so expensive as that would have been the solution for raising height

Strange car the Polo Dune. Never quite understood the logic of raised suspension and low profile tyres?

That will look very good and very contemporary. Always liked the Dune and more than once been tempted by an Allroad. Good luck with the project Steve

It's just got to be done right. It could look tacky very easily, but with the push towards crossovers over the last 5 years, it should fit in well with the current market if done right.

Spacer blocks under the top mounts?

this list from last year's study compared front aftermarket springs for various Polo-class vehicles including A2 and has the heights - ranked by calculated approximate spring rate - may be a guideline?
