Project A2 DUNE

The wheels on this project all important in my view. 16s probably right with all weather tyres and chunky alloys. Maybe the Y design like the Octavia Scout is an inspiration

My plans are as follows

Rear skid plate (done)
18s (already purchased to gain height initally)

Stage 2
20-30mm spacers
Arch extensions
Running bars into jacking points??
Raise suspension
Fit AT tyres on 15 or 16 inch wheels

Sounds interesting, but haven't you already got one of those. Its called a Santa Fe.?

I certainly have, but apart from on this holiday I barely drive it.

This is more about creating something that I haven't seen before. You know me, I like to build/create special A2s ?

I am liking it so far Steve, agreed on the Allroad look and it suits the car

Reminds me of those brown 2001 Volvo xc70's. Cool, I'm keeping an eye on your project, ?.

Looking at this photo and given current trends with cars like the Citroen cactus etc, I think painting the boot panel in the same anthracite grey may well add to the look.

The rather large skid plate should be balanced out a bit better with the 18x8 alloys with 225 tyres.

That looks better than I expected, in view of what it was meant for!

Interesting, what's the rear diffuser* source? I see the cat has finished checking your work. ?
*couldn't call it skid plate. ?

The rear one is from a Dacia Sandero Stepway and the front when it arrives is from a mk1 Mitsubishi outlander. All of the VAG range ones were too large

Wheel spacers and, above all, raising the suspension will definitely achieve the desired "cross country" effect. (IMO, Volvo is rather successful at this kind of transformation).
With a raised suspension, you could fit bigger tyres than usual (for comfort with 18").
