Today I finally refurbed Boris’s headlights

I used the meguiars two step headlight restorer and I wasn’t that happy with the results as I want Boris to look like he’s left the showroom

so today I wet sanded them 1000/1500/2000 grit and then machine polished them with meguiars cutting compound and then finally treated them to clear coat:)

Nearly 1 Year and still No EML maybe a FSI world record? ???

Small update on Boris since I’ve not put much on here since October last year !!!!

Unfortunately Boris has just ran out of MOT and may be going to a new home soon I’m slightly gutted as he’s just a amazing car not let me down once since spending nearly 2k on him:)

What do you think I should do guys sell Boris higher mileage A2 and keep Audrey the low mileage A2 with some little niggles needing sorting out ? Or sell Audrey what needs some little bits to get her 100%

At the end of the day at least I know Boris is a sound car after spending that amount of money on him 3/4 months to go until I can start driving:);)??

Really sad to report that Boris, seemingly one of the best condition FSIs around (that isn't a low-mileage example anyway) is dead - The owner had fuel pressure and ABS warning lamp issues, all of which sounded fixable with some time and effort. He obviously decided to recoup his money at this point by breaking it.

Just goes to show that even top condition A2s are still at risk in the wrong hands.

The faults change every time I hear that story!

That's what he says on FB that he had ... right after auctioning it on eBay, with feedback provided from a supposed happy purchaser ?

He had tried selling it at £2500, no joy, so he auctioned it and tried to bid it up but ended up selling to himself. One of the parts he's selling is the high pressure fuel pump so I doubt there ever actually was a fuel issue or an ABS issue for that matter. I suspect he just broke it to get rid  .

Yeah I noticed that there was supposedly a fuel pressure fault - yet he's selling the pump!

I had also seen it on ebay, didn't realise it had actually sold "successfully" mind.

@Proghound - I think what you say is most likely.
