Today I took all the seats out of Boris and gave them a good shampoo

When you take all the seats out the car it looks like @A2Steve project ?

After shampooing the seats while they was drying I cleaned in the areas where you can’t reach with the hoover when the seats are in

They look way better in person than on photos

It's pretty easy to change over those bases (i.e., the passenger base where the driver's is and visa-versa) .... I've done it a few times. You'll have the worn bolster(s) on the inside and really improved bolsters where you want them, in full view! Why don't you do that?

Today I used turtle wax luxe leather to restore the coulor in Boris’s seat belt buckles

Today I gave Boris a wash to get all the dust off him from sitting in the garage

I’m getting him taxed and insured next month so I can’t wait

I have to say Boris must be one of the best looking crystal blue A2’s out there

Not trying to blow my own trumpet or anything lol ?

How do you paint the boot spoiler ?

I just want to cover the bits that have peeled off

What do you guys use to cover it ?

I would rub it down to give a key. Then maskup well, plastic primer, then topcoat, black or crystal blue?

I want to make the 136k beast/Baby back to showroom condition

I’m wanting him back to showroom condition by the end of next year

I was thinking of modifying him a little but then I thought let’s keep him original

Keep a eye on this thread everyone it’s going to be interesting

Well today I’ve ordered some bits for Boris

2 new keys

Then the Audi logos

Finally some silver brake Caliper paint

I painted the callipers

Put new floor mats in thanks to @Proghound

Put TT pedals in

I also gave him a quick hoover

Changed the key case

He’s really starting to look like a showroom car now apart from worn buttons etc

Please invest in a proper floor jack if you plan on doing regular work. Those things are real nasty - once you have one come down on you you'll understand

I was going to say exactly the same thing - or at the very least to suggest investing in some half-decent axle stands.

The other week I went to lift my project car to sort out the vibrating driver side inner wheel arch that I subsequently found was held in by only three fittings, one of them a 2-inch wood screw. I was in a rush for various domestic reasons. I had lifted the car to the point where the wheel was just about to leave the ground when there was a hell of a bang, the jack somersaulted out backwards falling just short of the A6, and the car fell back onto the wheel again. Given the kinetic energy involved I'm glad I wasn't in the plane of the escape route. After looking at the jack that I've used countless times previously without issue, there was a new surface mark about 6mm short of the end suggesting that I hadn't noticed that in my hasty efforts to get the jack vertical that the tubular end piece wasn't anywhere near inserted when I began to lift properly. Put it back in fully taking a bit more care, and this time it was absolutely fine. However, I've learnt my lesson. Now - imagine I was doing the 2-jack method above, and part way through lifting the second one with a wheel off, the first one pinged out? To paraphrase from early military pilots, Louis - there are old mechanics and bold mechanics, but finding mechanics that are both is not statistically likely.
