Back to cleaning detail now, stop posting images of your super shiny cars! Actually, no, don't stop. :)

Waiting on rear suspension upgrade components though the Symphony II+ arrived sooner than expected. Being tight I've swapped the wiring without an adaptor as the II+ wash helpfully supplied with quad-lock and fakra connectors with 6" of cable. Also fitted aux in which is native on the II+.
MP3 CD burned and playing as expected. Only issue I've still to research is the unit won't switch off when ignition off or key removed.

Parallel Lines?

Correct, still get goosebumps listening to it. ?

I thought that when I saw the title...

As to your problem with not switching off, this could either be because you snipped the Audi stereo lines, and unfortunately messed up the wiring, or I believe there is a known issue with Symphony III units that lead to them not turning off properly. Do a search for flat battery Audi Symphony, this might come up with something. I think there was a similar issue with RNS-Es as well. It might need just a tweek on the VCDS coding.

However, I went down a similar route to yourself. Just needs BOSE now ;)

Yes, research shows many with power oddities. I've got K line and CAN H and L connected though not displayed on DIS yet. No biggie though I dislike it not being 'right'. BOSE is in the loft while I decide which car is getting it. :)
Been testing an echo dot today, working well, so much easier than locating the correct CD.

Echo dot... That's an interesting concept. Though data hungry I would imagine.
My advice is not to use streaming services with the Bose as its a bit of a waste of the Bose. Wifey does this and I always think the streaming is much lower quality than 320kbps mp3, and definitely worse than proper cds.

Much as I appreciate quality audio I don't really listen to music these days, I hear it(if that makes any sense-often it's the kids music so as long as it's not distorted it's 'good')! Data is of little concern, I have 12GB pm for £7, 3 have always served me well, wife and daughter are on 4GB with unltd text and 600mins for £5pm.

Been a while, partially due to having too many A2s. DIS has been showing boot open for the last week or so. Strip down showed the cause...

The tell tale green of corroded copper, one of the pins was removed along with the plug. Stripped, cleaned and greased the connector before fitting a 'spare' latch from the cobalt. I was surprised by the amount of water, what's the likely source? Best guess is numberplate screw holes though I've yet to remove the panel to check (I'll order replacement numberplate light units first.

Would any water ingress from the number plate screws not drop in the cavity behind there? That's quite damp, I'd be thinking glass seal.

I'd imagine so, it is prone to following the law of gravity. ? Failed glass seal is more likely as the damaged latch plug seemed to have had the water run down the cable (numberplate screws would be much easier repair). Guess I'll have to get the pressure washer out to investigate, once the weather heats up a bit.
