Hello all,

I’ve recently purchased a couple of items from the Clubs Shop which were dispatched and subsequently delivered extremely quickly. Thank you very much Ian @Proghound.

First up is the anniversary sticker, a very elegant addition to our aluminium friends, still plenty in stock as well:

Secondly was a pair of Bespoke Number Plate Surrounds, a must have enhancement for any A2 on my driveway. They really are an awesome and quality addition which is also a brilliant A2OC advertisement:

Coincidentally these purchases were at the same time of my insurance renewal; so thought it the right time to remove the private plate:

Knowing Project X, Project 732 or Project XJT simply wasn’t fitting enough for such a stunning A2 I had to consider other options…

Then remembered I had this tucked away for a rainy day:

After a quick online adjustment of legal matters I can report that Project PDK now legally wears the above private plate:

Guess I need to consider a project name change. Google helped out with confirming that the new number plate could certainly be of use:

The words Envy, Jealousy, Enthusiasm and Zeal could well be associated with either this A2 or myself. To that end, I hope you all don’t mind but I’m about to re-christen the thread to Project EUD.

Kind regards,

Tom
Definitely jealous :) 😀

Haha, hello Edd,

I’ll let you have first dibs when it’s available Sir.

That will only of course be when Audi pull their finger out and reproduce the A2 as an EV. Until then it’ll be staying at 2work Towers.

This is most definitely a keeper, even more so once it’s got a matched specification as Project OEM. The rarer items (SideGuard and Headlamp Washer Bumper) have been located and the rest should be slightly easier to come by.

Kind regards,

Tom

Going to be such a beauty with votex aswell!!

Hi Edd,

Yes Jaipur Red really does deserve such a bodykit, the colour can certainly pull it off as seen on the Project JRV thread. From memory it is yet to sport the spoiler and has manual heating. Maybe EUD will be the first JR full Votex A2 with climate control.

Just got to locate a Votex spoiler now.

Kind regards,

Tom

Morning all,

Been extremely busy the last few weeks whilst fitting a new kitchen along with the necessary preparatory task required before it’s arrival, as such this thread and my online time has take a back seat.

I do have a minor update though, one of the niggles with this A2 was the door mirrors covers which were rather untidy. This was mentioned within Paul’s listing and knew I had to get it rectified in the future.

Here’s what they looked like at the time of purchase:

I’m sure you’ll agree that they are very rough and not in keeping with the rest of this stunning vehicle.

Some of you may have noticed that I’ve had an unmatched pair of door mirror covers form observing recent pictures:

The above mirror covers look black but they’re actually Dolphin Grey.

Happy to report that the Jaipur Red covers have now been painted and look awesome:

The colour match is superb but yet again my iPhone camera has made the beautiful colour seem a much deeper/darker red than they actually are. I’m confident that the colour will match the remaining set of the metal panels once the exterior has been washed and polished; not been done for a couple of weeks now.

Once I find time to tackle some other tasks I’ll be back to update you all on another item I had painted…

Kind regards,

Tom

Did you do them yourself Tom?
Afternoon Steve,

The plan was to do them myself as have since purchased enough paint to do the mirror covers along PDC sensors for a pending retrofit when time permits. This plan didn't follow course as had a larger item that required painting so went for the easy option and got these done at the same time.

Remember this item for sale:

Well, its recently come back into my possession and had an update to its colour; more to follow when I find a free weekend to fit it. Within the below pictures you’ll see a glimpse of the freshly recoloured rare bumper:

It’s difficult to show how good a colour match the mirror covers are in the above pictures due to the light hitting the coachwork at different angles. I’m over the moon with the results though.

Kind regards,

Tom

Coming together now!! Going to be a stunning car, fully loaded too.
Hello Edd,

Yes it getting there now after a short break from tinkering.

It’ll certainly be dripping with specification once I’ve got it to the same standard to Project OEM. I’ll see about taking this particular A2 as far as possible without forgetting it’s a 122 miles a day commuter.

Kind regards,

Tom

Morning all,

I’ve been busy the last few days updating the specification of this stunning A2. The summit of retrofits have started with more to follow at the weekend. I’ll add pictures once this marathon is complete but the list is as follows:

1. Headlamp washer bumper
2. SideGuard
3. Double DIN dashboard
4. RNS-E PU
5. A3 BT module
6. A3 AMI module (with a Bovee WMA1000 for wireless streaming)

7. Rear electric windows (with black leather armrests/handles)
8. DIS
9. Reupholster the headlining (not sure which colour yet though)
10. JDD gearbox installation
11. Heated seat loom
12. Full Votex

Not all the above is complete but should keep me busy for the next couple of weeks when time permits. Watch this space for updates.

Kind regards,

Tom

Would be interested to know your thoughts on the JDD Tom when done. Some report it to be great, others find the gaps between the gears too wide as you’ll be aware.

Being as Leicestershire is relatively flat I’d say it could go either way for you, assuming of course you’ve not driven a JDD equipped A2 before.

Morning David,

I’ve also read the different opinions but still think it’s a better solution for the MPG that the 5th enables, the gaps should be manageable and I’ll of course get used to them. This A2 has already had the budget remap so I have no issues but will report my finding in the next month or 2 once I e covered a few thousand miles.

Yes Leicestershire into Lincolnshire (for work) is relatively flat. There is another local-to-me member (Kraig @kraig22) who has the same remap with the JDD ‘box who reports no issue.

Kind regards,

Tom

Wow Tom that’s quite a marathon of retrofits there.
Morning Steve,

Yes I do like a challenge, I have pretty much all I need in terms on information and parts now, with the exception of a couple of items I’m collecting later this week.

With the evenings getting lighter and the weather being reasonable I though why not just go for it. Hopefully no issues along the way. Really looking forward to having my latest commuter to have a similar specification of its predecessor.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Tom, what’s a side guard?
Hi George,

Graham has obviously answered your question perfectly. The SideGuard kits are few and far between and can be expensive whilst not really being on show. Some retrofits are worth it for the safety factor alone regardless of cost, I do a lot of miles so like to have the additional protection should something go wrong.

I had other Tom install SideGuard in my first commuter them moved it over to Project OEM, which is where it’ll be staying for the other driver here.

Fortunately the kit I’m collecting later this week comes with a full loom which has been nicely removed opposed to just cutting the connectors off, which should see this as a very simple retrofit.

Kind regards,

Tom

Sorry to jump in but SideGuard are the curtain airbags that deploy over the side windows.
Hello Graham,

Hope all is well. You’re welcome anytime Sir. Feel free to jump in whenever you need to.

Kind regards,

Tom
