Project Jag

Excuse my ignorance - this is on the passenger's side. What is the name of this part that looks mangled? Cannot see it anywhere on the schematics https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a2/a2/2001-248/4/407-407010/ Ta

They are only fitted to the longer drive shafts The purpose is to prevent the shaft from vibrating to to it flexing over the longer length. The shorter shaft on the drivers side doesn’t need one

I don’t think they are replaceable as they are moulded onto the shaft

Thank you @depronman - learned something new. Following up, would this be potentially the source of a knocking noise I get in low speeds, driving straight, going over small potholes/uneven road? No knocking noise at all at motorways

Very very unlikely
Much more likely to be drop links or anti role bar bushes. The bushes must be for the polo unless your ARB still as the plastic sleeves which is highly unlikely

Sure enough, it was the passenger's side drop link (probably 21 years old!)
Unless taken off, this was not visible
Changed both as a pair for good measure
Knocks gone!
