Project lockdown

Looks great Andy,

Very nice dark paintwork with a bright interior. Just the sort of colour combination I’ll be after for a future project TDI.

Very well done indeed.

Kind regards,

Tom

Really is coming back to life nice. A few point from your boot picture. You are missing the plastic flap that sits over the battery positive connections which is even more important as you have the spare wheel carrier fitted, the tyre sealant is missing although you have the fold flat spare installed and lastly the wheel center cap removal clip is facing horizontal instead of the hook end pointing downwards. All anorak stuff I know.

re the rear-end sagging issue - I replaced the rubber mounts that go under the rear springs on my 04 car last year as well as the upper bump stops that were completely disintegrated, and they made a huge difference in terms of the visual balance of the front-rear ride height. Are yours also knackered? Obviously, could be sunken springs or broken, but I would always look at the mounts and bushings first.

All duly noted and will be corrected tomorrow(yes I am slightly OCD too, but thought the centre puller is more visible when I put it like that...the tyre hunks that i have found in the past are usually about 13years out of date(give or take a few years),and the positive cover is actually sat atthe bottom of the battery tray...will fish it out tomorrow...nice to see you are paying attention to the photos though ?.
It's got to beat doing a jigsaw or the likes, I've loved saving it...the seller was convinced it was only suitable for scrap, even though it has loads of mot on it ?...
Jobs a good un so far.

Looks really quite clean inside!

EDIT: The outside looks lovey too, it’s a set of wheels away from being really tidy all-round.

Pepperpots would suit Castle Red I reckon - they’d be a nice contrast for a darker colour
If I were to keep it, yes I agree it needs some new shoes...but that may be something for the new owner to personalise...pepper pots or fat 5's...the decision is theirs!
Unless something comes up cheap, then I may make the decision myself...this is something I don't have as a spare!!! Although I do have two sets of lightweight 15's...but they look too small on it(I've tried them).

New springs fitted today, still sits slightly low, bit not as bad as before...only down side is the eml has come back on again today...will scan it again tomorrow...the love of A2's eh?

When you replaced the manifold, did you do the adaptation with vcds?
Mac.

No mate, wasn't aware it needed it till now...think I may need to visit my pal with the ross tech cable...do you happen to know the route to adapt it?
Cheers for this..you may have helped a p'd off bloke out.
It states N316 set point not reached P1031...fingers crossed I may owe you a pint if this is the case.
Andy
