Next week is going to be a very busy week for me and squeak

New intake manifold is getting fitted (lower part)

Death pipe replaced

Cambelt and water pump is getting replaced

Full major service using all mann filters and castrol oil 5W/30

Finally a MOT :)

Then unfortunately it’s looking like I’m going to sell him so I can buy a colour storm and my neighbours A2:)

Marketplace it is. I've removed the salesy bits of your post above. I'd suggest to put up a thread in the Market once the work and the MOT have been done, then everyone including you can be confident what is being sold, and you know what your costs were.

Thanks bud

will we be seeing the storm at the evening meal ? :)

Before I sell squeak I’d like to put a radio in him and I’ve found a chorus radio but from factory he had a concert radio fitted so was wondering would it work or would I definitely need a concert radio ?

Thanks ?

I wouldn't be putting a lower grade Chorus radio in place of a Concert if it was as you say fitted as standard from new.

My advice would always to try and keep things factory standard as that is how they are worth the most money.

Oh and BTW is that lower intake manifold on the floor Louis? ? You know how I feel about that ?

Well today I’ve been working on squeak for 5/7 hours !!!!!

Cambelt had slipped a tooth and was about to fall off Because It had loads of slack in the belt !!!!!!!

water pump was in bits !!!

Then took lower intake manifold off and replaced the actuator rod

Now he is running 100% no engine codes or anything and I’m going to be honest if he’s not sold before Christmas I’m definitely keeping him

This is the problem with saving A2’s you fall in love with every single one you own?

Hi everyone after thinking hard I’m definitely keeping squeak as he’s going to be a good project for me :)

The plans for him

Retro fit BOSE

Retro fit sat nav

Retro fit cruise control

Retro fit fog lights

Fit black leather seats

Finally get the body work back to top shape as he has a couple of battle scars:)

I’ve also decided to keep Doris as she’s just too special to sell:)

If I could be so bold @A2 Louis can I give you some advice, the Bose and RNS-E purchased and fitted will be close to £1000, if you have a decent phone and gps app plus a BT connection the standard CD player amp and rear speakers, then it’s not worth the money for the main purpose of music and satnav your phone would be better. Spend the money on fuel and go and have an adventure once you’ve passed your test.

Good advise @Robthebank but subjective. If you want the OEM look, and appreciate sound QUALITY, then BOSE is really the only way to go with an A2. Together with an RNS-E they really blow the socks off any non-factory stereo in the sub £1000 bracket - plus there will need to be a LOT of fabrication, which (imho) ruin the looks of the interior of the A2. The RNS-E isn't a BAD sat nav, I recently got a 2019 map set for it, so its kept up to date, and like I say with MP3 and the phone functions built in to the head unit, and fully integrated it really is a joy to use.

Today squeak treated me to a cylinder 4 misfire

I removed the coil pack On cylinder 4 and replaced it with the one on cylinder 3 but still misfiring on cylinder 4:(

Fuel filter hasn’t been changed for a while so going to give him a full major service soon and see what happens if still the same I will change spark plugs and all coil packs

Then if still no change I’ll replace the high pressure fuel pump:)
