qq on an atl egr eml

Theoretically speaking if I wanted to remove the egr from an atl would I have a problem with the engine management light and is there an easy (for me-non remap) way to fix it?

Just asking for a friend who wants longevity from their car and not to be forced into buying new cars all the time

Hi Jonjo,

If you wish to physically remove the EGR from the ATL engine, the EGR functionality must be removed from the ECU's software, otherwise the EML will illuminate. There is no other option, unfortunately.

Thanks timmus, is there an easy way to do this software change? I know you have the skills but virtually a world away, I’m in the Deep South West!
