Hi every one does any one know how easy it is to replace the 4 rings badge on the boot lid as some kind scumbag nicked mine within the first week of moving to my new house.

When i say replace i mean putting it on the car as it looks like the sticky stuff audi use is still there i dont think there too expensive to buy as i was thinking of getting one off ebay but decided that if i go to them i know its the real thing.

Thanks for any advice as it makes the boot lid look bare.

Cheers david

The new rings will come with an adhesive foam to the back of them, peel off the shiny paper cover and stick on, I'd give the boot area a quick wipe with meths spirit to ensure clean grease free sticking area, warm the boot first before you apply to ensure good adhesion, if you still have some of the original adhesive foam stuck onn the bootlid spray with WD40 and allow to soak in then wipe off, works a treat.

Hi David
Just adding to Mike's instructions, it usually helps to use a strip of masking tape as a guide for aligning the bottom of the badge.

The correct part number is 8Z0 853 742 2ZZ and costs just over a tenner.

Make sure that you remove all traces of the old sticky (WD40 does work a treat, but make sure that you clean the area afterwards with alcohol to ensure that no oil remains, otherwise the new badge will just fall off in double quick time!).

The new badge will come with the usual shiney backing paper and have a clear plastic front sheet with a white paper surround. Don't remove this front layer, as the paper surround is actually an alignment aid!

Cheers,

Mike
