Question for rnse the boffins

Hi all, I recently updated my firmware on my rnse, and wow! Brilliant update,
My question is, now the navigation information is coming through to my colour dis which is fabulous, but I only seen to be able to have the nav info up now when I'm driving? No more temperatures or measurements are able to be scrolled through using the rocker on the stalk anymore?
I've gone though all of the settings, and can't find anything related to it. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gary

I think it’s one of the left hand side buttons on the steering wheel Gary - been a while so maybe wrong

Sorry to high jack this thread, the Steering wheel you have there, is it one from an Audi A4? considering this and an update to mine.

Regards

Jae.

Could have been from various Audi’s circa 2005-2010. The tricky bit is finding one with the correct buttons and correct single stage air bag. The best thing to do is find a wheel you like then find out what you need to make it work.

If you want fully functioning multi function features it’s absolutely doable but not the cheapest modification, even if you’re confident doing it yourself.

I’d say even DIY you’re looking at circa £250-£300 at least, depending on how efficient you are with your part procurement.

How efficient you are with my part procurement, hahhah, knowing me I'll probably buy a 1970's routemaster steering wheel.

Don’t forget that if you press and hold the button that is under the DIS / Wiper stalk (not the “up and down” one on the end of the stalk, switches it from Nav instructions back to normal colour DIS mode with temp, MPG and loads of other info. Press and hold it in to return to Nav display.

^^ This!! ^^

@Gary Woolston, as the installer of all the infotainment features in your car, perhaps you’d appreciate going through them all with me such that you understand all the buttons and how the systems interact?
I always provide these ‘guided tours’ to whoever initially has the upgrades done, but cars then get sold between people, leaving new owners without a full understanding of what they’ve got.
I’m sure we’d find time at an upcoming club social, should you wish.

Cheers,

Tom

That would be fab Tom. Thank you. We will see you in June. We are not yet sure which car we are coming in. Gary's or my 'new' one (hopefully getting soon), but even if we are in that one, it also has Timmus mods as I understand it (not sure exactly what as yet).😊

Hi Tom, hope you are well😀,
What a fantastic upgrade the colour DIS is in the car, I would say one of the top upgrades you could have done to an A2! I Really love it.
That is very kind of you, hoping to see you at one of the socials 😀
All the best,
Gary

Has the FSI, (Mabel?) gone?

Afternoon Gary,

Apart from reading the ColorMFA user manual from their Wiki, you’ll also need to adjust the setup of your RNS-E Sir.

It looks to me that the compass option is ticked which pushes navigation information to the instrument cluster at all times regardless of you not selecting a destination. The compass can be useful in certain circumstances but can be easily turned off in seconds. This will save you having to change the user defined setting on ColorMFA or swapping the display via the DIS stalk every time you switch the ignition on.

First up navigate to the RNS-E Nav page then select Setup:

Which will take you to this page, scroll down to the second page by rotating the large dial/know inside the quadrant buttons:

You’ll end up on what’s displayed below. simply continuing to scroll down with the same dial to Compass. I’m guessing yours looks like this:

By pushing the large dial/knob it will untick the Compass selection:

This will stop navigation information being sent to the instrument cluster when no destination is selected. It will of course send the necessary navigation information to be displayed on the instrument cluster when an actual destination has been set.

Hope this helps and have a read of that Wiki.

Kind regards,

Tom
