Radio connectors

Hello all,

my FSI has overcome most of its problems (the dreaded yellow engine light come on this afternoon even after having changed most of the engine's parts...) but one weird problem is that I cannot fit an original radio. The previous owner clearly butchered, among other parts of my FSI, also the power supply wiring to fit some cheap and nasty radio. I would like to fit an original head unit and I own now a Concert (Cassette), another Concert (CD) and a Chorus, all in excellent condition with codes, the cassette Concert was a NOS unit; sadly, neither works because of the modified power supply wiring. My radio specialist, though very good with vintage cars, is unfortunately not very confortable dealing with modern electronics and and I would be very grateful if anyone would check the picture of the 'modified' wiring in my car and show me what I would have to tell him to modify it to reverto to an original condition and thus make any of these three radios work. Some detail of the wiring is visible in this page f my personal web site:

I also attach a pic of the modified connector, I'm also wondering why the blue wire has been cut and insulated... As an additional info, I must say that the 3 radios have been tried on FW888WS but the Chorus had only a full-volume playback (this could be a defective unit I know) but both Concerts have the same problem, they turn on, then they show 'SAFE', you have to punch the security code in and they light up only in part, i.e. only the display while buttons and knobs remain unlit; and, more important, no sound come out of the speakers, that work fine as they did a fine job when connected with a £35 Chinese radio-bluetooth etc....THen you switch off the car and the power supply is cut so you switch the ignition on again you see again the 'SAFE' display! Any suggestion on how to rewire the power supply connector would be very appreciated. Thanks and have a nice evening,

Stefano
