Rear brake cylinder

Just rang my local car spares asking for a replacement and he said there was two types, cast iron and aluminium. This is for a TDI 75, 54 plate.
Didn't know there was a choice.
Advice please peeps.

It's ok guys, I found an old thread which says cast and 17.46 mm piston.
Hope that's correct, I'm picking two up now

Again that makes me think 1.2. You may also need replacement rigid pipe(s) as the nut tends to seize and pick up on the pipe when trying to remove from the slave cylinder.

That is good news. As I thought the ally / 15.20 are for the 1.2 tdi. I assume you did a nice flush and bleed afterwards - not forgetting the clutch slave as it uses the same fluid reservoir.
