Rear bumper bent from accident

Hi had a accident sitting in traffic guy bit me from behind and the sides of my bumper are bent. His car is in a much worse condition but should I just push in the rear bumper? Thanks in advance

Umm, it's kinked the plastic but it should mould itself back with a bit of gentle heat, the plastic will have a memory.

If you are lucky it should pop back into the lugs behind the bumper.
 
Ahh that’s good I have had it hit before and pushed back so should be okay. Just didn’t know if anything was behind it that could have been damaged etc
 
Can you see an impression on the rear face of the bumper or is is torn? If not then pop the sides back on and wait for the next one..... Have they offered to pay for the damage or insurance involved?
 
Yeah will push it in it will all be good, they offered to pay for it but I don’t wanna bother with the hassle when I could push it in if you know what I mean
 
After pushing back into place just gently warm it over a reasonable area with heat gun or hair dryer. Will help the plastic to relax into place.
