Rear crankshaft seal & bearing replacement 1,4 petrol

I will change gearbox (from FDM to FVT) in my AUA 1,4 petrol. In the same time I will also change clutch and rear crankshaft seal and primary bearing for gearbox (that one in crankshaft). I can't find the part No for the bearing in the crankshaft, pos No 13 in the parts catalogue.

Looking at images of the input shaft of FVT boxes it looks like it relies on the the clutch friction plate to centre , ie stubby shaft + no pilot / spigot bearing on the crank / flywheel to support the input shaft
Daft idea, price driven?

I have an old TDi gearbox and as above, the mainshaft has no machined spigot for a support bearing. In my opinion it's a decent design as the shaft is very short and stiff, with minimal bearing overhang.

Reminds me of my 'it'll never work' view when they brought out motorcycle single sided swinging arms. I'll concede I might have got that wrong.

Cheers Spike
