Rear doors dont lock

Hello

I have an Audi A2 1.4tdi from 2001. During I guess probably a year I have had some issues locking and unlocking the car with the key fob. Sometimes this function have not worked so then I have used the key in the door lock instead.
But now the key fob aint working at all. And when I try locking using the key in the door lock only front doors and trunk locks not the rear doors.

VAG com can not connect to the module nor does it work with the Autel fault code reader.
I changed the battery in the key fob. Before that I checked the new battery with a multimeter, it read 3.3V
After battery change I put the key in the ignition, turn one step. Directly after the yellow car/key sign goes out I took the key out and pressed unopen. Nothing happens.
Car battery is fully charged.
Opening/closing function of windows on front doors works.
Using the lock/unlock buttons inside the car gets the same result as using the key in the lock. 3 out of 5 doors locks. Rear doors does not work.

What else can I try?

Hi Gagge,

The problem you have is a failed CCCU. See this thread for a better understanding of what's gone wrong...

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks Timmus.

Well I went to my local scrap yard and bought an used CCCU today with the same number. So now all doors locks. But I do not know how to code the keys since I am still not able to access the central convenience module with VAG com. Any ideas?

For clarity, do you have either a registered copy of VCDS-Lite or a Ross-Tech VCDS cable which supports the latest software?

Instructions on using VCDS to pair fobs are found here:

You'll want to read right through before you start, since you may need to clear the existing paired fobs before you start.

If you're able to get the paired fobs from the scrapyard, that would definitely be easiest.

Hello all again.
Here comes an update regarding the rear door locking issue:
The keys that were paired with the CCCU was gone with the car (probably melted down togheter with the car ?)
No I do not have a registered copy of VCDS. But I went to a company that specialises in key, lock issues etc called www.carkeys.se
Unfortunately they could not connect to the CCCU either. Exactly the same problems that I experienced. When I came home after that I checked in some papers I have for the car. A couple of years ago I let Audi do an complete fault code read. And neither then it was possible to connect to the CCCU (the old one). Perhaps there are some cable that is broken between CCCU and OBD2.
But the car is now nearly 20 years old and 491 000km so I am just glad that it is possible to lock all doors again if only just with the key. So I will leave it now.

Thanks for all support!
