Rear end "sloppy" and dangerous!

Hi all, has anyone found the rear of the A2 suddenly go sloppy and feeling quite scary at 70-80 mph?
Just had a service and mot and this is the first time that I have felt this. The other thing is that I have had budget tyres put on!
I have checked the wheel bolts (after the MOT), there is no play with the wheels (bearings), have had a quick look at the suspension (looks ok) does the suspension fail and need replacing? Is this a known issue?
The car has been great but now I am losing confidence:confused:
Any thoughts
Thanks Nathan

Dare I ask what budget tyres you have put on? Are they at the right pressure? Cheap tyres could be at fault if theyre dodgy...

My first thought was the wheel has been left loose by the MOT station, checked and OK, then my thoughts turned to the tyres, they have had 2 different pressures in them for comparison and they rear is still reacting the same?

Jack the rear of the car up and spin the wheels do the tyres look round ? you could try putting the new tyres on the front and seeing if that makes a difference

In addition to steveb's suggestion, also check the tread is running true. If it wavers, that could induce a sideways motion to the car.

Cheers Spike
