I have a switch that is a little different, you have the 3 options on the switch
0 - Turns it off completely, no control from the front either
* - Middle turns it on, but from the front you can't turn if off when on the 0 position
1 - Turns it on all the time
When you have it on 0 at the front you can still put it on in the rear, e.g 1 in rear still turns on the light on. On my other a2 if it was on 0 at the front switch you couldnt turn the light on in the rear. Is that normal operation
But this is correct. I know it from other A2's.
I understand your question, but if someone enters the car, he should see something and that is why the light turns on in the rear. This is service for rear passengers
But if you drive alone, you don't have any problem with this. Because no on turns on the light.
And if you do any illegal (have affairs... ) you should park the car where no one can open the rear door...
