Recommended oil level for AUA/BBY

As the oil level is a bit of a pain to read from the black dipstick, I thought I may as well just use VCDS. In case anyone is curious how to read the oil level using it:
1) Go to 17 - Instruments
2) Measuring Blocks
3) Group 4

After doing that four 'measuring blocks' appear. The first is self-explanatory and the distance since service. The second is 31 mm and I assume the minimum oil level.
The third for me always reads 0.0 mm (As an aside, does anyone know what this field means, or is it just not used?).
The fourth is the current oil level. Now to get to my real question: Does anyone know what value this should have?

Hi Bear ... maybe a bit OCD but I try to keep this reading at 55mm on VCDS ... this works out at 3/4 litre of oil added above the warning on my 1.4 BBY.

Haha I am a bit obsessive over oil as well. Mine is at 54 mm right now after my oil change, but when I check the dipstick it seems to be a bit over maximum. Is yours in the right range?

Hi Bear ... I think so, it's on the upper side on the dipstick at 55mm, I don't use much oil between services though, maybe around 1/2 liter per 6k miles ...

Don't trust the TOG sensor. It doesn't measure accurately. For example mine flashes "low oil level" once it is 3-4 mm below min mark on the dipstick!

I love VCDS, but for something as vital as oil level, I wouldn't use anything other than a dipstick. VCDS, or CDIS relies on a sensor, sensors fail, but not always in a way that is obvious, or triggers an error code.

will use this thread to ask a question related to it. My A2 is pretty thirsty with oil (1,4 petrol AUA). Many times i add one Liter if oil (3000KM) when filling it up to the max on the dip stick. And my Low oil sensor never turns on. I talked to my mechanic, and he said Low oil sensor is fine. From what i can see on this thread, the minimum to some is set at 31mm for the low oil warning, Can this level be raised with help of VCDS? This way i never let my engine run on low oil levels.
