Reconditioning Turbo

Have now rung Turbo Technics and they say that the turbo for the ATL engine is no longer repairable due to not being able to get the spares for this model.

My son rang another company near us in Nottingham called Midland turbos, But I'm not sure my son gave him the Reg, But the bloke said they could repair for £360.

I also had a read on here about another company down south Turbo Dynamics.
So on Tuesday I will try these and see what they have to say.

If T/T cannot fix it and they have been going a long time then how are the others has me wondering.

I feel this is the beginning of the end, But having spent so much money on a car he can't drive no license yet.
There was a post about using a different turbo but that's a modification and may put his premium up as a new driver.

I would welcome any other idea's.

Would have thought it considered repair and maintenance
if a component is no longer supported and you use the closest available equivalent
Not like you have actively sought out higher performance
Supporting evidence of correspondence from tt would assist if queried?

Update
Turbo Dynamics cannot get the inner parts anywhere, They say parts are obsolete.
Can buy brand new £800+ Vat + P&P.
Not sure what to do now?
Is the engine up to a new turbo? Should the head be removed and the pistons checked. I could take it all apart but not a clue what to look at.
Where does it all end.

Why not ask them to make you up a hybrid turbo, they are about £500. They could then use a custom billet turbine and will have the seals and shafts on the shelf.
