Audi a2 2003 1.4TDI 55KW

Problem: cant connect 2 remote keys to my car.

When i get this car it be without remote key(just a key). SO i buy spare keys by code from audi a2. Take new blades and immo.
On my car CCCU is with AF letters. So i thing all good but.......
Then i take VCDS i cant program the key. Car cant find them....
Shop where i make blades takes new batteries for remote controllers and test them. all good.
So i buy the same spare part CCCU with AF letters ant plug it - nothing.
I take a look at wires so on 15 16 pin there is wires one black other cant remember but not antenna cable.
So waht can i do for this situation?
In the trunk i found sticker on it writes 5D1

From drivers doors lock and unlock works great.

HELP HELP HELP :)

Welcome to the forum :)

@timmus would need to confirm but it sounds like your car was built without remote central locking and you're missing the antenna it would need to receive the signal from the key fobs. The antenna normally exits the car body under the rear bumper skin and sits on top of the crash bar underneath.

But 5D1 on sticker tells that it have antenna. I dont know.....no error codes on this CCCU but cant program.

Morning,

Ian rightly points out the exterior location of the antenna and we await Tom @timmus to let you know if this antenna can be easily retrofitted. You clearly understand where it should exit the CCCU Module itself and Ian has indicated where it exists the vehicle. Maybe it’s as easy as taking the correct gauge wire from the CCCU to the rear of the vehicle, just a guess as I’ve never done this before so please do check the wiring diagram.

Perhaps you could test this theory with a temporary wire but only if you know that the pin you mention is of course the correct place for the antenna wire out on the connector, again check the wiring diagram. I don’t know if there is anything between the CCCU and the antenna wire beneather the rear bumper skin, this is something other Tom will be able to answer as I’m sure he’s come across this before.

You mention an AF Revision CCCU being fitted, can you confirm the part number of the remote part of the key fob as not all remotes will work with the AF Revision CCCU. The part number for the factory remote fob that works with this particular CCCU is:

8Z0837231D

Having the letter D at the end is very important. If the part number of your remote half of the fob does not have this letter D at the end then this is why you cannot find the fob whilst programming in VCDS.

Please do come back with the part number of your fobs whilst we wait for Tom to let you know about the feasibility of adding the antenna if it was not fitted at the factory.

Kind regards,

Tom

But 5D1 on sticker tells that it have antenna.
Good Afternoon,

The text of the code 5D1 is

PRCode: 5D1 = Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz-434.42 Mhz

There is no mention of ariel wire, maybe this means the CCCU "listens" on that frequency range but if no ariel is connected it will never pick a signal up.

I think the more relevant code is 4K4 with text

PRCode: 4K4 = Radio remote controlled central locking

Have you this code?

You really need input from Tom(Timmus).

Lastly a picture to help further with the ariel location.

Good evening,

The reason that this remote part of the key fob will not pair with your CCCU is that it’s for an earlier generation of CCCU.

You are correct that they are indeed for an Audi A2 but when you upgraded to the AF CCCU you needed to acquire the remote part of the fob with the D at the end.

You need to obtain the correct key fob which is the part number I posted earlier with the D at the end.

Kind regards,

Tom

As @2work @Dmytro has said the fobs without the D only work on single letter CCCUs such as Q. For any double letter CCCU the remote must be the D type.

So you have been sold the wrong remotes and the only fix is to either get a CCCU to match the remotes or get D remotes to match your CCCU.
