Remote locking problem

hey all
wonder if you could help me with this remote locking issue i'm having-
what happens is that when the car has been left a few hours without driving it the remote locking refuses to work. when its been driven for a while 10 mins or so the locking works as normal.
so i thought i'd try fixing it myself and replaced the Central Convenience Unit with one of the same code which i bought from Mr Angry.
Changed the unit over and matched the keys using vag-com and i thought it was all fixed as the keys were working without starting the car and running it for a bit.
Went back to it this morning and it still didnt work so obviously probably not the CCU.
The wierd thing that i've noticed is that even when you can unlock the car using the remote (when it actually works) and then when you put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position it unlocks the doors which i dont think is normal.

I have recently had the door hinges done at audi so I do wonder if they've put something back a bit loose.

Anyone got any thoughts before i take it to audi?
I think taking it to a specialist could be a waste of time and money.
TIA

Hi mwh
This sounds normal - see attached link for more info - http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3581&highlight=unlock+doors

Its quite possible that the wiring was disturbed when the hinges were repaired so there would be no harm in discussing it with Audi

the saga continues...

I bought the convinience module that Mr Angry was selling which has the same part number as the one printed on the casing of the one that was in my car: 8Z0 959 433 Q and when you look at this one in vagcom the part number matches the outside of the box.

but when you logon to the original one in VAG-COM the part number is listed as:
8Z0 959 433 P
whilst the part number on the outside of the box says 8Z0 959 433 Q !

I believe this may or may not be why i'm having trouble with the one i've bought from Mr Angry. I get no fault codes on the original one its just the remote locking that does not work. and it will not recognize any keys when you try to code the keys.

However these are the fault codes I get from the one I bought from Mr Angry:

Control Module Part Number: 8Z0 959 433 Q
Component and/or Version: Komfortgerát T1D 0614
Software Coding: 06858
Work Shop Code: WSC 00853
Additional Info: 8Z2959802 Tõrsteuer.FS BRM 0001
Additional Info: 8Z2959801 Tõrsteuer.BF BRM 0001
5 Faults Found:
01561 - Left Rear Door
59-00 - Can't Unlock
01561 - Left Rear Door
61-00 - Won't De-Safe
01562 - Right Rear Door
59-00 - Can't Unlock
01562 - Right Rear Door
61-00 - Won't De-Safe
00955 - Key 1
35-00 - -

so i'm thinking either the one i've bought is faulty or it is the incorrect part number!

However after a bit of digging i found some soft codes on the german A2 forum which enable the car to be unlocked using the key:

06752 (standard + auto locking)
02048 (standard)
06720 (not using radio or dwa)
02058 (without radio with dwa)

so i coded my old unit using 02048 which then enabled the key to unlock the car using the lock in the drivers door.

I guess i need to confirm the part number of the convenience module from someone in audi parts.

yeah i used the LHD codes perhaps thats why it allows the car to unlock all doors on the key. everything works perfect (apart from remote of course) and i've got auto lock and auto unlock enabled

Took advantage of the nice weather this weekend to work on this problem on the car we recently purchased from mwh. As suspected by mwh, it turns out to be a couple of wiring faults causing the central convenience module to loose it synchronisation memory after the ignition is switched off.

Once the wiring was sorted out, I managed to get the car to work once again with its original convenience module leaving Mr Angry's as a spare (which I am thinking of putting it up for sale as no longer needed). That said, if anyone is suffering from their central convenience module loosing synchronisation with their key fobs, I would recommend checking out their wiring before spending money acquiring a replacement module.
