Remote not working, passenger door not locking

Hey there

I have kind of a long term problem with locks. It beggined with left rear door not signaling that they are open. Also it triggered alarm from time to time. Then it sometimes refused to lock by remote fob. After repeated pressing the button it locked. Sometimes the LR doors didn't lock. Later on the remote stopped working completely and at the same time my drivers door stopped signalling that they are open (not showing open doors on DIS nor turneing dome lights on). Two weeks back I needed to use all four doors and found out that LR doors were locked. I opened them from the inside but now they won't lock. I lock the doors with inserting the key to the lock. I suspected microswitches but when I disassembled LR lock, all the switches looked flawless, lock PCB didn't have any cold joints, no broken cables in the door jam area (at least visibly broken or crooked).

I loaded VCDS and it showed LR doors "locked" in any situation - I locked/unlocked with buttons in the interior. All other doors locked/unlocked as they should.

What do you think it is causing it?

And also one thing worth noting is the first fault code reappears after clearing all the fault codes every time.

It looks to me like the answer is in the recurring message, the problem is your CCCU. The N suffix on the part number shows that it's from the generation of CCCU's which are prone to certain faults in their electronics. You need to obtain a CCCU with a suffix 'AF', and the button-section of at least one of the remote fobs that came from the same car. Fobs for the later generation CCCUs transmit on a different frequency to your current fobs. More remote fobs can be obtained and coded at a later time if necessary. The AF CCCU could also need re-coding with VCDS software, depending on what options are fitted to your car compared to the one it came out of.

First solve the problem with the CCU unit. You can send it for repair to @Lau. This is the major problem. My CCU unit also ended with N, and was already replaced in 2009 by the Audi dealer. In 2013 it was again faulty. I hope the repair fixed it for good.
After that you will see if any other problems remain.

I had a problem with the CCU unit AND rear left door control unit, although I thought at first that the second issue was the problem with the RL door locking unit. If your car has rear electric windows, than there is a door control unit also in the rear doors (if I understood correctly, verify this). And this was my second problem, that RL doors did not lock.
If your car has manual windows than the problem is either in CCU, wires or locking mechanism. But first repair/replace CCU unit and after that you will see which other gremlins will still be around.

Thank you for the reply. I have manual windows in the back, so one problem less Unfotunately I don't have ENG VCDS installed...

A friend of mine is doing remap stuff, ECU repairs etc. so I asked him if he can take a look at it. If he declines I will contact Lau for sure
