Remove front passenger seat for long load

Hi all,

I have some long items to bring home (500 mile round trip). At 2 metres they’re too long to fit in the back, however if it take out the front passenger seat I think I can get them in. I know this will put the airbag light in but I think I can reset it after with VCDS Lite? Is there any reason not to do this? Is the level under the seat about the same as the rear?

Other option is van hire but if I can use my A2 it will save approx £100 :).

Thanks.

Depending on the size of what your carrying you might be able to take the rear seat out and tilt the backrest right back and get your load in

or take out the back seats, push the front seat forward and then lower the back of the seat to a flat position (probably have to remove the head rest).

I would protect the seat with a flat sheet of plywood or chipboard as it will then be easier to slide the load in. I've also protected the back boot "lip" with a piece of a carpet upside down.

It would be wise to strap everything down for your safety and in case stopped by the police.
