Removing Front Seat Base Cover and Replacing Base Foam

well i drilled it but no use. I guess once you go over the 35Nm max torque that the manual recommends and the retaining metal piece starts to spin in the plastic you're a bit bunched. So, to all those taking apart seats, use a torque wrench on that nut! And possibly some heat.

In the end I merrily chopped the base out with the grinder and then used the base from the old seats I was replacing in its place. Luckily the nuts in the old seats came loose straiught away.
