Removing oil level hose

Hello, I need to remove the the hose which has got the dipstick in it, the end broke off and unfortunately it got stuck in the middle somehow, so now I can't even check the oil level at all, as the rest of the dipstick doesn't go back all the way. Vagcom measure blocks 4 doesn't show the level, plus mot is coming up so I need to fish that out.
It seems the dipstick end is stuck just after the foot-long rubber hose end, which connects to a metal hose below, by feel that's aluminium. How do I disconnect the 2? I unclipped the top part by the service flap, shall I just pull it till it comes off or I can damage the aluminium hose going to the engine? Thanks

This is a picture of the 1.4 petrol looks like a bolt on a bracket.

Assuming that is an A2 picture.

Look at this thread especially @Robin_Cox post #3 for info and part numbers - very helpful

I can't open that link, it says "something gone wrong". It's the part between 10 and 13, I have to remove 10 from that metal hose. I assume if I just pull 10 hard could snap the metal tube off and that could open a can of worms..so not sure what to do now. Thanks
